Throughout the year the Civic Association organizes various events in addition to the upkeep and maintenance of the developments that the city of North Olmsted does not address.  All residents, family, and friends are welcome and encouraged to participate.

A whole Neighborhood of garage sales all happening on the same days attracts many more shoppers than a garage sale by itself!

Our Civic Association pays for the advertising in the local newspapers of ALL the surrounding communities.  They also post signs at the entrances to the developments.

Clearly mark items that are
not for sale
Neighborhood garage sale usually takes place in early June.  Watch the News Letter for details.

The Annual Meeting is open to everyone in residence in the West Park-Forest Ridge developments and it’s the primary meeting of the year.  Here are the main topics for the meeting.

Voting on
Board Member Officers
Annual update to residents on events & beautification projects
Appreciation to volunteers throughout the year
North Olmsted City update
Networking opportunities to promote your business
Opportunity to be involved in your community

We know EVERYONE is VERY BUSY these days and finding the time to attend even one meeting is difficult.  We request that you consider the opportunity.  The more people we have working together, the less time required of each volunteer.

The Spring Celebration & Egg Hunt is a community favorite!

Held at the
North Olmsted Community Cabin in North Olmsted park, many of the WPFR families join in celebrating with food, music, pictures with the Easter Bunny, raffles, prizes, coloring contests for the children and of course, the BIG Egg Hunt (held out doors, weather permitting).

The Spring Celebration & Egg Hunt is funded by our annual membership dues and other revenue sources, but the main thing that makes it such a wonderful success is the VOLUNTEERS that make it happen.  Each year a few devoted members of our community set about to organize the event, stuff the eggs (and there are HUNDREDS of eggs), build the gift baskets, prepare the food and do everything else to make it happen.

Thank you all who volunteer and help to make our Spring Celebration all that it is!

CASH prizes awarded for the top three decorated homes!
Each year during the Christmas and holiday season a group of 3-4 volunteer judges drive the developments in search of the best house lighting and decoration display.  While we realize that there really is no "best", the judges do their best to be objective and spread the awards around so the same house(s) don't win year after year.

The judging is done based on some simple criteria to help the judging go smoothly and as fairly as possible.  The judges attempt to take the following into consideration when making their final awards: Color, Creativity, Effort, Balance, Scale, Focal point, Overall Effect, and Online Nominations.

A point system is used to help with the difficult decisions in narrowing the field down to the final three.  ALL houses are considered.  Previous first place winners are not eligible to win or place for three years.

Drive or walk the neighborhood and look for the winning signs in the yards of our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Community Participation Can Be FUN!!
